Youth RC driving lessons at HFCC
Do you want to race outside on a real RC circuit?
Have you ever driven an RC car or raced in a game? If you enjoyed that, you will love this. On our circuit, RC cars can reach more than 80 km/h.
Curious? Come and have a look. We are easy to reach by bicycle and tram, and if your parents come along they can park nearby. We are right behind McDonald's.
What will we do?
HFCC uses a youth lesson programme, which you can find below. We focus on:
- Learning to drive together with others
- Small races
- Setting up your own car
- Learning technology that may even surprise your parents
- Working together in the paddock like a real race team
- Discovering the forces that affect driving and racing
That is what we call having fun racing.
Our experienced coaches have many years in RC racing and help young drivers build skill and confidence step by step.

What cars do you use for lessons?
Tamiya DT-03
A rear-wheel-drive buggy, ideal for getting started. If you leave the track, you can steer it back on easily. It has surprising grip on asphalt too.
Tamiya TT-02R
Tamiya TT-02R (1/10 chassis kit, no. 47326)
The circuit lesson car: stable, quick and useful for learning setup.
- Motor: Carson 23T Electric Cup Machine (C906052)
- ESC: Hobbywing HW30120201
- Body set: free choice, suitable for TT-02
- Battery: 7.2 V NiMH, minimum 4000 mAh
Transmitters
We use 2-channel transmitters with expo function to make steering calmer. Recommended options, often supplied with receiver, include Sanwa MX-6 and Reflex Wheel PRO3 LCD, model 500054.
Something else you may want to know...My child wants to take lessons. What should I do?
- Contact us via WhatsApp or, even better, visit HFCC on Saturday morning between 11:00 and 13:00.
- Arrange a date for a trial lesson to see if RC racing is really something your child enjoys. Do they like it? Then we can take the next step!
- Decide whether you want to buy or rent a training car. Buying becomes more economical after approximately 15 weeks of lessons. The advantage is that your child will always drive their own car.
- Discuss with the trainer which day and training session your child can join.
- Become a member (sign up for a “Youth Lessons” membership). Tip! When registering, you can also order a club key if you want to use the track outside lesson hours.
- As a parent, register for the lesson calendar. Here you can indicate when your child will or will not attend and avoid a session unexpectedly being full.
Getting here with children
HFCC Racing in The Hague is easy to reach by bicycle, public transport and car.
Bicycle
Several lit cycle paths from the surrounding neighbourhoods lead directly to our RC club. There is space to park bicycles on the HFCC site.
Public transport
The Escamplaan/Zichtenburg stop is about 400 metres from our RC circuit. Beresteinlaan is another option, about 500 to 600 metres away. RandstadRail line 4 runs between Den Haag De Uithof and Zoetermeer Javalaan.
Car
There is also space to bring your child by car and park around the site, making our RC circuit accessible from across the region.

An app for kids
We also offer an app where children can learn about RC racing at home, step by step, with clear explanations, images and short recognisable stories. The app connects with the lessons on the track and keeps children involved with the hobby during the week.
